the Pythagorean Order of Death

dedicated to restoring Atlantean Democracy

As part of a multi-purposed effort, I took some time to visit some internet forums that happened to tailor to interests relevant to previous posts. My primary interest was to find ways to address personal situations but that's a longer story and probably not so relevant to the general reader. Secondarily, I used the experience to reflect on a lot of questions I had on other matters. Since I had departed from these scenes some years ago, one thing I asked myself is had I been missing out on anything since, wondering if I had made the right choices with how I lived life from then on. The short answer is, yes I have been better off, and that was generally the conclusion as made from "Shrouded Story".

While that kind of reflection is suitable in a personal context, that's not really what this thread is about. Instead I'd like to focus on some of my findings in this recent time and how it can relate to others so that ideally it may help them avoid pitfalls I've observed and also so that others receive what is due to them.

This is a fair statement. After all, this is a general expectation in civilization that people face responsive measure for criminal behavior and that entities that are obliged to the public also face measure for practicing corruption. Again this statement is not only fair, but mild given what is known to have transpired.

Make mental notes because I'll be returning to that before long

It is a common expectation for any professional to have integrity with respect to their field, hence being professional. Of course, this varies according to field and what is considered professional for one may be different to another. Regardless, however it is the case with each field, none get by if they renounce or throw away their own sense of professionalism.

Likewise, one may identify ways in which an individual or group thereof can be unprofessional according to standards of their practice. In many instances, being unprofessional reflects on the person of focus, for their sense of identity and pride often are coupled with their professional sense. But furthermore, depending on the field, there may be consequences to those whom the said field pertain to and that there is a sense of responsibility to others by the professional.

As an example in the case of academic and scientific fields, professionalism is reflected by one's approach to the discipline, how rigorous they are in work, and how much integrity they live by in it. Of particular interest to the academic professional is research and how to go about doing it. Many would say that to engage in such while recklessly ignoring standards would be unprofessional and that when doing research involving human subjects that the ethics ought to be paramount.

Such is the case because without ethical standards research can be abusive to its subjects, and that without proper oversight or awareness by subjects the room for such abuse is vast and at the whim of the researcher. This is enough of an issue involving research where the subjects are observed without their awareness. Such a situation would be further magnified if the research also involves procedure that should reasonably require informed consent. In either case, it is an issue of concern if the researcher has the means to circumvent any possible consequences to unprofessional misdeeds while the subject faces their own not of their own initiative. The latter being at the expense of the former, one must question where and how to draw the line.

Politically speaking, the sense of what is professional is very different than that of the academic. It's not an expected standard by either the governing or the governed that the governing be truthful. Anyone with a realistic approach would recognize that this is tacit.

But at the same time, we are not expected to just live with it. This is why social movements happen. This is why political power struggle occurs. If there is a sense of professionalism in politics, it's basically a matter of survival for whichever parties to the degree their fate rests on political happenings.

We tend to believe this covers pretty much everyone in society in some way or another. Historically speaking many such circumstances were unilateral, that the governed had less means than the governing. Only slowly throughout history has that changed and even then mostly to cause further disparities and wedges between peoples rather than an equilibrium between them.

Such is the case still, that political dynamics do leave room for explosive changes particularly when masses of people turn their energy and attention on something, or when an individual or group thereof hold a position as such to influence a great deal of people and matters by their own decisions.

Getting back to context, in regards to both political and academic pursuit there are grounds for believing one relates to or depends on the other. However, it also stands that their professional nature stands at contrast with one another for that while it may be considered professional in a sense for politics to be deceptive, one would generally not consider that to be the case for academia. This is because we hold academia to much higher ethical standards and that it its in their professional interests to be truthful, to rely on facts, to have sound and valid judgement, to apply their findings towards beneficial ends.

But there is also an exception to this, and whether one subjectively agrees with it or not it happens to play out in practice objectively and that is which what has to do with military and warfare. This is because that which is military also relies on the fruits of academic/scientific efforts and in many cases engage in their own. Given the ends of military matters, one can point out a distinction between those and that of the general academic who probably does not intend to have their efforts contribute towards the harm of others. Military perspective may argue otherwise, especially on grounds of national security. The problem though, is how one defines that and determines what is in the interests of national security and the population to which it is meant to serve.

Once we get into particulars, into context, one can easily point to further problems with all this. For decisions with great weight fall into the hands whose judgement is really based on what is in their own eyes. The less eyes to counterbalance perspective, the more those particular hands can exert their own judgement unchecked.

And this has long been a dangerous notion in civilization even up to the most recent times.

Under guise of national security, states have been practicing massive domestic surveillance for many years. While this occurs internally to states, it is also known to be shared between some. In less recent times there was a cooperative effort between leading Anglo-Saxon powers in what was known as Echelon or Five Eyes, being the US, UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. The idea was that while there were some legal hurdles towards domestic surveillance by a state towards their own, the agreement between these states were in effect to circumvent those hurdles by knowingly and willfully spying on each other. This went on for some time even while the information age was in its infancy. We know that coupled with the progress in information related technology that these surveillance programs evolved in order to be able to intercept any communication between any parties. This is what grew into what we later learned to be called PRISM.

I can tell you that I first learned of Echelon/Five Eyes in my childhood. While I didn't know what PRISM would be called, I knew it existed by the later Oughts, well before Snowden's and others revelations. In the former, I learned directly from whatever educational source I had been observing, but in the latter I just knew. How is not the immediate point.

And that is in part what brings me to the link posted above. It is a thread from a forum known for non-mainstream topics. Likewise there are a number of similar forums, some of which stand out prominently and among these there is also an interdependent dynamic and history. This happens to be very complicated but additionally it also has to do with speculation that the same mentioned sites are also in the employ of governmental entities. I won't get into elaborate detail at the very moment because there are others who have done research to that effect already that I may not need to repeat. I've learned of this as I was starting to participate in them in the past couple of years but I took it with a grain of salt and wanted to verify more for myself. After two years of intensive observation, I have reason to believe that these previous speculations by others are at least in part true.

As said, since the inception of the information age there have been adjustments to the practices by governmental entities in not only surveillance but also public relations and human resources. Steps have been made not only to promote governmental access to any piece of information of an individual's life, but also to sway their life's circumstances.

One example:

Among the mentioned speculations of the nature of specific internet forums is that these same operative tactics are put into practice on the individuals there. This is evidenced by the fact that these tactics are systematic enough to spot when they are put to use and are further identifiable when motive, on any end, is taken into account. There are numerous personal stories from visitors to these sites who can attest their experiences with this.

Coupled with this stratagem is the utilization of what is commonly known as psychological operations. Practices which in many cases are designed to attack the individual's psyche to induce some result or behavior. These softer tactics are often used to agitate while attempting to allow some level of deniability to those practicing it. Part of this has to do with the looseness of legality related to anything communications or internet wise. It is difficult enough as it is to put a stop to harassment by these means between ordinary people but the sad fact is that governments practice this against their own citizens or those of their allies with the expectation that they will not be held liable and that a person on the receiving end would struggle to be able to point the finger back at their agitators without being deemed questionable in some capacity.

The key thing here is that governmental or related interests have narratives to maintain, long term goals to pursue. Going against these narrative, standing against these goals, is what draws attention to the individual by which governmental entities justify to themselves further action. Because of their clout and a relative ignorance in society, they are not challenged back enough to change this situation. As such, many individuals' lives have faced detriment or even ruin because of the disparity between them and these agitators. But the issue is the same agitators use these circumstances to distance themselves from liability. In the most sinister of cases it is basically akin to twisting a circumstance to make an individual self destruct while letting it seem it is their own fault when it is not.

Before going into further details about the sites, their connections with one another and other entities I will first point to some details regarding the first link posted.

To start with, I'd like for the dates for the posts therein to be noted. It is not the most common thing for a small thread to be added with subsequent posts for 12 years only to make it to 2 pages. While posts per page varies by forum, the idea still counts. What is more unique to the thread however is it's link to other content across forums. Look carefully and it's obvious.

On a side note, check out another thread from the same forum.

http://www.abovetopsecret.com/forum/thread468597/pg1

Anything familiar? Notice any semblance to psychological operative tactics as previously mentioned?

Regarding the first link again, I said to pay attention to both dates and content. In the thread itself we see posts aggregated very slowly over a long period of time, possibly reflecting a long term intent on part of the OP who indeed returned over the period of years. When looking at the early posts we see statements that can resemble a research problem/question format, which is a standard for theses and related forms of research.

I'd like to raise the question of what kind of data would be of interest to a hypothetical study that could closely resemble said hypothetical research problem/question. Could such data be in the form of forum posts? How about news reports? Geographical information? Over the past many years the thread had been online, advances in compiling all of these forms of data have been made and electronically at that. It is all rather curious timing.
