Apophis in 2012

"No worries in 2012. Apophis will be at .101 AU from Earth on Dec. 21, 2012. That's about 15,000,000 km or 39 lunar distances. If you look at the asteroid close approach table (click on the first link under "more info" and click on "close approaches" tab) you'll see two asteroids of similar or larger size (250m) passed Earth this week at closer distances. 2009 TA1 passed at 37 lunar distances on 11/9 and 2009 UP1 went by at 29.5 LD on 11/11. All is well! The site also lists future approaches."
