The origin of attributing the 12 signs of the Zodiac to Shekinah, the Presence or Bride of God, begins with the Chinese application of the Meridians (which we will discuss in the section on the East) to the 12 signs of the Zodiac by astrologers following Marco Polo's explorations of the orient. Applying the 12 signs of the Babylonian zodiac to the 12 Medirians of Chinese taoism originated in the orient, but was not brought back into Europe until the early era of the Dark Ages during the First Crusade.
