each "tetratile" can be likened to a "trigram" of the I Ching, where the "broken / yin" lines and the "unbroken / yang" lines are shown. The colours indicate the primary elemental trigrams, the largest set of which is shown in black and includes the 4 "double" trigrams that form the 8 "prime" hexagrams.
