The simplest regular rhombus is the triangle, and when plotted on a sphere, the minimum number of triangles there can be (each having 3 right-angles) is 8 (one for each 1/4th or quadrant of each 1/2 or hemisphere). Thus, there are exactly 16 locations + rotations that can be combined to yield EVERY POSSIBLE VIEW OF A SPHERE.
